Our pods are made from innovative PLA corn starch. PLA stands for "poly lactic acid" based plastics and can generally be produced from (purified) residues. This process is constantly being developed with the aim of creating an ecologically useful alternative to plastic without competing with food production for resources.

The pods are biodegradable and compostable. We are on the right track with the PLA pods, but we also know that PLA is not yet a final solution for sustainable production. Therefore we are continuously researching for a better solution and more environmentally friendly pods.

You can find further information about our approaches and goals for more sustainability on the Vejo Green Commitment page.
